Advocacy

There are many competing uses for our wild lands. Some of the commercial uses are helpful to outdoor users, while others should never be allowed. All our national parks and public conservation lands have statutory plans that set out how they are managed and for whom. In particular, National Park Management Plans and Conservation Management Strategies get reviewed every ten years. If you want to ensure that your special place remains special, take an interest in how it gets managed: check out the FMC website www.fmc.org.nz to learn more. Consider becoming an FMC Individual Supporter for a nominal subscription if you are not already a member of an FMC affiliated club.
